    Bible Reflection 5 (Mark 1:17)

Come follow Me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men. Mark 1:17

For most people, church and God are reserved for Sunday mornings. They go to church on Sunday and think about Jesus for a couple of hours. Then, they come home or go to work the next day and forget all about Him. That is not how religion is meant to work.

Your faith is supposed to guide your every movement, fill ever action and shape every thought. Do not simply relegate Jesus to a few hours on Sunday or a few minutes when you pray before bed. Make Him the central part of your life each and every day, and you will see your life transform.

    Bible Reflection 4 (Proverbs 12:25)

An anxious heart weighs man down, but a kind word cheers him up. Proverbs 12:25

The world is too often filled with cruelty and malice. When a person is not facing deliberate hurt, they are often surrounded by the sort of apathy and indifference that can be every bit as damaging. Not everyone, however, wants to live in a world that is at best uncaring about others suffering.

Thankfully, anyone can make a difference. Showing kindness to others costs you nothing, but it can make all the difference in the world for someone else. Even something as small as a kind word or smile for a stranger can lift someone’s spirits and give them the strength to carry on.

For He will command His angles concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11

He loves safe and will not let them suffer without reason. When you are going through dark times, know that God will protect you and that He has a plan for you. Even during the most difficult of times, there are angels on your side.

    Bible Reflection 2 (Genesis 1:1)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

When things get difficult, it can be tempting to wonder if the whole world is spinning out of control. As things are not right in your life, you assume that everything is wrong everywhere. Of course, it may not even be that things are going wrong in your life.

Events may be steering you toward greater things, but you feel like things are going wrong because you are not in control. When that happens, trust in God. He has created the heavens, the earth, the seas and the skies as well as you and everything in your life. If you feel like you are not in control, it is because you are not. God is in control.
